Three Simple Ways to Support You

Looking for a Profitable Income Stream or Home Business? Try Photo Coaching—a Career I’ve Run from Home

If you’re looking to develop a new stream of income or a profitable business in 2025 as a stream of income, then take a look at photo coaching.

I launched my photo coaching business in March 1995 and my passion then, as it is now, was helping families tell their stories through their photos and other memories.

Read on to:

  1. get input on how to choose a home business that’s right for you and

2. see if photo coaching is right for you

Choosing a Business that Works for You

Popular wisdom says that running a business is like marrying someone. There’s truth to the thought because a business takes focus, whether it’s a business you run from home for several hours a week or a more involved operation.

How I chose photo coaching

I had a professional background in the corporate world and stepped away to raise my children while my husband worked and developed his career. Parenting was great but I also needed a challenge for my entrepreneurial mindset.

I looked at various business options but none struck me until I saw a friend’s photo album (this was the 1990s), looked through it, and decided I could run a business helping families organize their memories.

Why was I interested?

I’ve always enjoyed looking at family photos and imagining the personal stories, even as a child, and I believe in the value of sharing family memories from one generation to the next.

It’s not just a nice idea, it’s needed for our well-being and our descendants.

Why do families need a photo coach?

Does this look familiar?

Don’t let clutter get you down. Digitize!

People are overwhelmed with their old memories like printed photos and digital clutter.

You help them gain peace of mind by offering a way to organize their memories, digitize analog files like printed photos, VHS tapes, and more and keep them safe with permanent storage that’s guaranteed safe and secure.

How do you choose a business that’s right for you?

Tip one is look at your background and see what sparks your interest. What interests do you have from childhood or what hobbies do you enjoy and how could those benefit your possible clients?

Clarify what you’re providing and jot down why would people pay you for what you offer.

Here are tips I found through the My Own Business Institute (MOBI) of Santa Clara University. Scroll down for a link.

Tip 1 What type of business are you looking for?

Are you looking for a flexible income stream that you can seamlessly add to your current profession or launch as a business? Photo coaching can be both.

Do you envision needing employees or having other independent associates to work with?

Do you see value in sharing family stories?

Tip 2 Make a list of business options

Write them down and describe your options, says MOBI:

The written description should include a short description of the products or services you will sell to your customers and an estimate of the price or prices you will charge.

Tip 3 How much money can you, or should you, invest?

You can run photo coaching as a lean operation with little upfront investment. Contact me and I’ll share how I’ve done it and what you can expect.

For any business idea, you need to know how much money is needed to start and be sure to include details like:

  • Paying for a website
  • Local business license fees or state costs
  • Joining an association like a local chamber of commerce

How I run my photo coaching business

Operating a business  professionally is important to me. My personal reputation is at stake, after all.

So, yes, I set goals and do the needed work of making calls, returning calls and emails, and keeping track of important records.

I’ve developed my brand Safeguard Your Memories™, and I use a platform that has transformed my business and has helped me run my operation locally in So Cal and scale across the U.S.

FOREVER® provides incredible technical support and allows you to develop various streams of income from one business.

My four main service areas are:

Help clients declutter and digitize

Digitizing older photos, VHS tapes, slide shows and many more memories.

Storing old and new memories in one place. This is guaranteed safe and permanent meaning that files are stored for a lifetime, plus 100 years with the goal of having them accessible beyond that time frame.

I’ll share with you how FOREVER® can offer a powerful guarantee.

Run a business, not a hobby

If you turn an interest or hobby into a business, then run it like a serious operation. Track your income and expenses, develop a client database, and build a credible personal or corporate brand.

My home business is a professional operation running in the U.S. and Canada.

I’ve been blessed to work with wonderful business associates who I’ve mentored and clients who have entrusted me with their memories.

I use FOREVER®’s services with total confidence because I know their customer service is outstanding and they have among the highest industry rating on Trustpilot.
