I’ve lived near the Eaton Canyon area in Altadena and Pasadena for nearly all my life and am saddened by the widespread destruction.
Here’s a photo of me from 1962 when my grandparents lived on Harriet Street in Altadena, an area now ravaged by the fire.
Blocks of homes are burned and the business district along Lake Avenue near Mendocino is gone.
My heart especially goes out for families who have photos that were blown away in the powerful winds gusting up to 99 miles per hour in Altadena and those who are worried that their photos suffered smoke or water damage.

Don’t toss your photos, VHS tapes, or other memories. Hang onto them and it may be possible to restore them.
